Formation of Active Regions: Observations and Theory

چکیده
Active regions can be used as a diagnostic of the sub-photo-spheric activity. In this review I will discuss how the physical conditions in the subsurface layers of the Sun form and modify the three dimensional complex of the active region. Many characteristics of active regions are related to the conditions under which magnetic ux tubes are generated and to their evolution as they rise in the surface. Statistical observations on active region size distribution, rotation and meridian ow, characteristics of growth and decay, reeect regularities of the behavior of the subsurface ux tubes through which the regions are formed. I will present several recent attempts to model the formation of active regions with diverse methods, such as single ux tube evolution inside the convection zone, statistical mechanics of a collection of magnetic ux tubes, and complex system theory (percolation theory and probabilistic competition models).

Luminous Phenomena of Earthquakes: Observations and Theories
Over the past few years, different theories (piezoelectric, positive holes, friction-vaporization, exo-electron emission, tribo- or fracture electrification) have been presented for the interpretation of earthquake lights. Although these theories can interpret earthquake luminous, each suffer from particular problems. There are also ambiguities and questions about the location of the light, the...

Paleosols provide invaluable paleoclimatic data especially in arid regions. Buried paleosols are found in central Iran. Givdary alluvial fan, south of Rafsanjan, was selected for paleosols study. Soil moisture and temperature regimes of the area are aridic and mesic, respectively. Based on paleosols' identification criteria, four paleosol layers at the depths of 15, 20, 45, and 50 m from th...
متن کاملDiscovery of active site of vinblastine as application of nanotechnology in medicine
Objective(s): Vinblastine is antimitotic, anticancer medicine that disturbs normal microtubule formation and favours depolymerisation. Structural study and finding the active site of vinblastine are the targets of this research. Materials and Methods: Vinblastine was optimized in vacuum and then in different solvents by Density Functional Theory (DFT) method. Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) ...
متن کاملMagnetic helicity and flux tube dynamics in the solar convection zone: Comparisons between observation and theory
[1] Magnetic helicity, a conserved topological parameter in ideal MHD systems, conditions close to which are realized in the solar plasma, is intimately connected to the creation and subsequent dynamics of magnetic flux tubes in the solar interior. It can therefore be used as a tool to probe such dynamics. In this paper we show how photospheric observations of magnetic helicity of isolated magn...
متن کاملObservations of Sludge Formation in Group I Base Stock for Lubricants and Thermodynamic Modeling with the SAFT Equation of State
Varnish and sludge formation are considered as one of the most common problems in lubrication and hydraulic systems. In order to simulate the condition of sludge formation, base stock lubricant (Group 1 API) has been selected and exposed to heat in a laboratory setup. Sludge formation process accelerated in the laboratory scale and solid liquid equilibrium data were extracted. Then solid-liquid...
